Nature and wellbeing volunteers

Assist with group nature and wellbeing sessions in the Barrow area with The Bay team.

The Bay project run weekly two-hour long Nature and Wellbeing sessions using the coastal environment and natural world to positively support people’s health and wellbeing.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable people with good interpersonal skills and empathy with those who are unemployed or experiencing poor mental health to help with the preparation and delivery of sessions alongside Nature and Wellbeing Officer, Jessica Mordain. Sessions run on Wednesday afternoons, Thursday mornings and Thursday afternoons each week. 

Ideally the volunteer would be able to give their time regularly each week so that they can best support group participants.

Group activities range from conservation, growing, arts and crafts, mindfulness and nature walks. The group participants will be working towards a John Muir Award, you could get yours too! The role will involve helping to set up, support the running of the activities and packing up of the event. 

Volunteers will require a DBS check and safeguarding training carried out and provided by us.
