General Election Action Volunteers

General Election Action Volunteers

Cumbria Wildlife Trust

A general election is due in 2024 and this is the most important election for the natural world in our lifetime. You have an opportunity to call on all political parties to put restoring nature, tackling water pollution and halting climate change, high on the political agenda.

Position details

Commitment:

Any Day

Do you keep an eye on the papers?  Want to know what your General Election candidates stand for? We are currently looking for expressions of interest for volunteers across Cumbria to join us in speaking to candidates, attending hustings or even help with general administration-can you help us?

Locations: Ideally to create a team of volunteers for each Cumbrian constituency.

Commitment: Variable, ranging from 1-2 hours on an ad hoc basis to more regular volunteering.  This role will operate from now until the General Election.

We need interested volunteers across Cumbria to work with Cumbria Wildlife Trust to get nature recovery, tackling water pollution and the climate emergency high on the political agenda.

We are looking to gather a bank of volunteers who can work with us on tasks such as engaging with and speaking to local politicians, Trust supporters and people in local communities, helping to arrange or attend hustings or just general admin.  The role is developing but we are keen to get people signed up as soon as possible.

Inductions will be needed and volunteers will need to be kept up to date as the year progresses.
