Commitment: 2-3 hours per week for wildlife club helpers. One-off helpers for ad hoc sessions

Frequency: Weekly and ad hoc sessions.

In a project funded by Sellafield Ltd, we are looking to improve young people’s access to nature by developing wildlife clubs.  We are looking to build a bank of volunteers to help develop our ideas.

Working with our West Coast Community Officer, we need friendly 2-3 volunteers to help set up and run these wildlife clubs, often beach based, engaging with local young people to bring nature to life.

Clubs will be run initially by our West Coast Officer with the aim of volunteers taking over and developing the sessions in due course.

In addition, there will be ad hoc sessions with schools and community organisations which sometimes require up to 5 volunteers for 1 or 2 sessions, for example to prepare the ground for planting plugs. Volunteers for ad hoc sessions will receive training on the day, re use of tools etc.

Some sites may be accessible for wheelchair users: contact us for more information.
