Rockpool Roadies Training Day
About the event
Do you have what it takes to be a ‘Rockpool Roadie’ and take rockpool creatures to visit people who can’t access the beach? Then we’d love you to sign up for this training day!
Rockpool Roadies are needed to collect snails, crabs, anemones and seaweed from Earnse Bay and safely transport them to the location where the ‘portable rockpool’ activity will take place.
You will also help people safely handle and learn about these creatures and return the rockpool creatures to the sea at the end of the day.
The training will involve collecting and identifying these creatures, learning how to set up a portable rockpool event, reading tide timetables and risk assessments, and more.
For the final part of the day, people will be visiting our portable rockpool so we can practice our new skills!
After this training day, you will be ready to start helping out with portable rockpool events. If you choose to volunteer as a Rockpool Roadie, your travel expenses up to £5 will be reimbursed when volunteering.
