About the event

Discover the bees that have a spring in their step! Our Pollinator Conservation Officer, Charlotte, introduces you to bee species that emerge in springtime, highlighting the ones you’re likely to see in Cumbria.

As queen bumblebees emerge from hibernation and solitary bees start to stir, spring is a great time to get to know some of our early season pollinators. Join us for this online talk to explore the lives of spring bumblebees and solitary bees, which species are on the wing in spring, and how we can support them.

Find out more about the burly bees feasting on willow catkins, the zippy hairy-footed flower bees visiting your garden primroses, and who may be nesting in your garden lawn or bee hotel!

This talk is being delivered as part of Get Cumbria Buzzing, Not Buffering, funded by Fibrus broadband as part of Hyperfast GB connecting Cumbria.
