Conservation day at Smardale Gill

Coppicing and brash burning along the disused railway line, to maintain open ride for butterflies to encourage the diverse woodland ground flora to proliferate, and to keep the footpath open for public access. This is the last conservation day at Smardale until after Christmas. Bring spuds or other fire offerings for a celebratory skoff.
