We’re looking to recruit new volunteers to take on the butterfly transects at these nature reserves following the retirement of other volunteers. This is a perfect opportunity for a keen naturalist with good butterfly ID skills who is retired or has flexible working arrangements. We need someone to walk the transect ideally once a week from April to September noting all the butterflies they see. Flexibility is essential as the weather has to be warm, sunny and relatively still to be able to do the survey. Full training in methodology will be given and help with identification will be provided. We will always try and find a substitute for those weeks you are away or on holiday. Retiring volunteers are happy to show you the transect route to help you get started. |
