As part of the Red Squirrel Recovery Network, we're launching a new initiative to recruit and train Volunteer Red Squirrel rangers.

Our Volunteer Red Squirrel Rangers play a vital role in protecting one of the UK’s most iconic native species.  Volunteers help create and maintain suitable woodland habitat, monitor red squirrel populations and support community engagement.

Volunteers will be recruited through Cumbria Wildlife Trust and trained in red squirrel conservation.  Once trained, you will be matched with your local red squirrel or wildlife group to provide direct support, while remaining part of the Trust’s volunteer network.
