FortnightlyIf you're aged 15-25, volunteer and learn essential conservation and horticultural skills and be part of our Young Environmental Leaders group, working on our exciting new project here at the Cumbria Seed Bank (in partnership with the Kew Millennium Seed Bank).
No experience needed, full training provided. This is a great insight/stepping stone into this essential area of world class conservation work.
We are working to collect seed from 14 key species in Cumbria and support new strongholds in designated meadows. This project is a great addition to your CV with the opportunity to learn plant science, I.D. skills, propagation, plant care, seed protocols and skills out in the field, as well as the opportunity to receive AQA accreditation for your learning.
We are planning a visit to Kew Millennium Seed Bank itself (July) and hosting a Young Environmental Leaders Summit to round off our project journey in October.
Sessions will run alternate Fridays 1-4pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm to allow as many people as possible to participate. You will be sent further information dates once you have completed the form.
