About the event


Join to celebrate International Dawn Chorus Day and brush-up on your birdsong identification skills.

The flat surfaced main track through the nature reserve offers a great opportunity to encounter a range of species including Willow Warbler, Redstart and Pied Flycatcher, along with other woodland birds.  The walk is suitable for wheelchair users and those with visual impairments, with support from carers.

The event is suitable for beginners and improvers of all ages who want to learn how to identify birds by song.  Those under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

Mobility

Walk along a surfaced track along the old railway line.

Flat and suitable for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.  Slower pace and regular stops with several benches to rest along the walk.  Maximum distance of around 3 miles (including return to car park) depending on pace of the walk and species encountered.

Suitable for those with visual impairments if supported by a carer.

No toilet facilities

Blue badge holders can park at the accessible car park and the group bought together before the walk starts. Please let us know in advance if you are parking in the accessible car park.
