About the event

Martin Bell was brought up on a Cumbrian farm and trained as an agricultural engineer. That was until he discovered the lure of the South Atlantic. For nearly 25 years he has worked for the British Antarctic Survey in a variety of roles such vehicles manager and winter commander for Halley Research Base. In this talk Martin tells us about life in Antarctica and the technical, environmental and logistical challenges it creates.
