We require a team of volunteers who will patrol the Skiddaw site boundary, checking for weakness, livestock presence and recording anything else of note.

You will join a friendly and dedicated team of volunteers and staff and your role will include working in pairs, on a rota as part of a wider team, walking parts of the boundary site of the land owned by Cumbria Wildlife Trust.  Where required, and where possible, you may make small repairs if possible, report larger issues to the reserve officer, or assist with other relevant tasks such as planting trees.

Please note:  the landscape here is demanding.  Volunteers will need to be fit and competent in the hills, all year round and in all weathers, and ideally have prior knowledge and experience of the site.  Training will be given as needed to those selected.

For volunteers who don't have this experience, we expect more volunteering roles to become available as the project develops. Do keep an eye on this page as we'd love to have you involved!

This project is funded by Aviva and the public and aims to restore wildlife and Atlantic rainforest to the Back of Skiddaw Forest.
