Join us at Plumgarths Gardens which surround our southern headquarters - from formal borders and wildflower lawns to a woodland area and tranquil pond.  We're looking for enthusiastic people to help our gardens thrive and occasionally support one of the Skiddaw Forest Project's Tree Nurseries - the Victoria Wood Nursery.

The role is wonderfully varied and changes with the seasons.  You might be:

Maintaining and  enhancing paths, borders and patios, including re-edging with stone or timber and jet washing;

Planting, pruning, weeding, hedge trimming, strimming and clearing brambles;

Improving wildlife habitat such as creating a bee hotel or scattering wildflower seeds;

Pruning wisteria and hedging plants;

Planting trees to enhance the woodland understorey;

Supporting the Skiddaw Forest Project: sorting, sowing, potting and labelling seeds, weeding and watering saplings, installing shelves in our potting shed.

No experience is needed  - we welcome both seasoned gardeners and complete beginners.

We host weekly drop-ins every Thursday, and you can join for as long as you like.  Occasionally we may ask for help on other days.

Come and get your hands in the soil, learn something new and be part of a friendly nature loving team!
