About the event

Volunteering activities on Skiddaw Forest include tree planting, fencing, path maintenance, wildflower planting, non-native conifer removal.  Skiddaw Forest is a remote site often requiring a long walk to the work site in potentially inclement weather conditions and substantial elevation gain carrying tools. Volunteers should have a good level of fitness and come well prepared for a day on the fells. 

A rough plan for the day is as follows

Arrival – 9am location TBC

Walk to site -9am-11am

Complete activity with breaks and lunch – 11:am – 3pm

Walks back to vehicles and depart 3pm – 4:30pm
