About the event

Join South Walney’s Assistant Warden Barry on a 2-3 mile walk to spot birds and other interesting species and learn how the dunes have been managed to help these protect these important habitats.   Route will be mostly dry along the blue and red trail areas.

Find out why sand dunes have become the focus of a national conservation effort, what will be happening to restore the sand dunes in Cumbria and how you can get involved.   

Booking by email is essential with places limited to 5 people.  This event may be cancelled at short notice in the event of adverse weather conditions. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the reserve

Dynamic Dunescapes is a partnership project restoring sand dunes across England and Wales for the benefit of wildlife, people and communities, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the EU LIFE Programme. Project partners are Natural England, Plantlife, National Trust, Natural Resources Wales, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
