Local support groups
How can I get involved with the local support group in my area?

Join the group at one of their events, come along to Plumgarths or work behind the scenes...there is a myriad of ways you can get involved - an extra pair of hands is always needed!

What are these groups?

We have a network of 10 local support groups in Cumbria that organise various events for both members and non-members.These can be illustrated talks by a guest speaker (which usually take place in winter) or walks, open gardens, plant sales or even a duck race. The groups are run by committees and annual general meetings to elect new committee members take place at the beginning of each year.

How can I get involved?

As a member of the Trust, you are welcomed into the fold of your local group and are sent information about your local support group and its events. If you fancy helping out at an event, joining the committee or have any ideas for future events, just give the representative listed on this leaflet a call. Information about local support group events are also published in What’s On, which comes out three times a year.
