A Wilder Barrow

A Wilder Barrow

Colourful wildflowers, busy bees, and a chorus of birdsong providing a backdrop to community spaces  - Can you imagine Barrow buzzing with life?

bee friendly wild flowers - daisies, purple thistles and cat mint

Cumbria Wildlife Trust wants to help transform unloved and underused spaces into something that brings life and colour into communities.

We want to know the places in your community that could do with a little tender loving care and that will make a real difference to the people in your area. We also want to know what you’d like to see happen there.

We’re looking for projects that:

  • Improve community spaces
  • Create new or improved green spaces in urban areas
  • Benefit local people in Barrow

If you have a community space that could be turned into a little oasis for wildlife and people, please let us know by completing the form below. Be creative and think about school grounds, roadside verges, sports fields, land near community centres, churchyards, paths and borders.  We welcome any suggestions you have.

Your responses will help us plan our work in Barrow over the next few years. We can’t promise to support all projects, but we do promise to consider them all and we'll still get in touch to see if we can offer other advice or support.

This project is funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund and supported by Natural England and Westmorland and Furness Council.
