- share your experiences.
What is it?
The John Muir Award is an environmental award scheme that encourages awareness and responsibility. It is non-competitive and can be done by individuals, friends, groups and schools.
Why get involved?
To enhance awareness of wild places, encourage people to take responsibility for wild places, raise awareness of the John Muir Trust and celebrate what people achieve.
What are the benefits?
Enjoyment and achievement. Focus and structure that encourage understanding. It’s healthy and it’s free!
How does it work?
There are four activities: discover a wild place, explore it, conserve and share.
There are three levels of involvement: Discovery (4 days), Explorer (8 days), Conserver (20 days).
