Visitor Experience volunteers

Location:

South Walney ,

Walney Island
,
Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, LA14 3YQ
We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly people to greet our visitors to South Walney nature reserve. You do not need to be a wildlife expert just a willingness to engage with visitors to explain the site and the interesting things to see. Training will be given. We are also looking for volunteers with more bird knowledge to help show off our wildlife to visitors in our hides out on the reserve. We are looking ideally for a one day a week or fortnight commitment

This is ideal visitor interpretation experience for those thinking about a career involving people engagement, and there may also be opportunities to help with work elsewhere on the reserve, such as litter picking, wildlife monitoring and practical conservation work.
