My Local Catch Events Volunteers
For more information contact email@example.com
Our new My Local Catch project is looking for volunteers to help with its varied programme of events this summer. Events will include sea food cookery demonstrations, family and children's activities such as rock pooling, nature trails, arts and craft sessions, sea watch events and much more. Events will be on the west coast - mainly around Whitehaven and St Bees.
We are looking for people with a friendly and approachable manner and an interest in helping to engage local people with marine life. You don't need to have any specialist skills or knowledge to volunteer as an event helper and any training needed to help you be effective in your role will be given. However if you do have any of the following areas of skill and would like to help we'd also love to hear from you.
- Knowledge of marine life, for guided rockpooling sessions, bioblitz and and other engagement activities
- Knowledge of seabirds, especially in the area around Whitehaven, for guided walks
- Knowledge of sea food and cooking/preparation
- Volunteers with lifeguard qualifications for wild swimming taster sessions
See our current programme of events below. If you'd like to help with any one of these or all of these do get in touch. We will be adding to these events as our programme develops - so there will be plenty of opportunity as the summer progresses to help raise awareness of the marine environment and sustainable seafood.
