The training session will involve practise of basic navigation and dune plant ID skills. We will also run through each element of the long-term citizen science scheme including measuring sand dune profile, zonation and vegetation surveys across the site to help us better conserve our sand dunes. We may look at recording some rarer species too!

Volunteers will have the option of adopting an area of sand dune to individually undertake surveying once annually in future.

All field equipment will be provided on the day.

Please wear sturdy shoes and sensible clothing. You may wish to bring your own refreshments too.

Please note, cattle may be present on site.

If you show any symptoms of Covid, please do not attend.

Dynamic Dunescapes have designed an easy-to-use App to help us to input data as part of the scheme. If you have access to a smartphone, please download the Dynamic Dunescapes App before the start of the session. You can click here to download the App: https://dynamicdunescapes.co.uk/dunescapes-citizen-science-app/ . Paper recording forms will also be provided.
