Seasonal Warden, Foulney Island

Pay £1055.60 (gross pcm). Six days (42 hours) per week. Accommodation is provided.

We are seeking to appoint a Seasonal Warden for Foulney Island, which forms part of South Walney. The contract will start mid April and last approximately 3 months depending on the breeding season. Responsibilities of the post include surveying and monitoring of breeding gulls, waders and passerines, and producing an end of season report. Good communication skills and knowledge of coastal birds is therefore essential. Knowledge of coastal vegetation types, general natural history, and experience of wardening would be desirable but not essential.

Seasonal Warden - Rockcliffe Marsh

Cumbria Wildlife Trust is seeking to appoint a Seasonal Warden for Rockcliffe Marsh, the Trust’s largest nature reserve located on the Solway Firth in North Cumbria.

The contract will start on the 11th April 2010 and run for approximately 15 weeks (until around the 25th July 2010) depending on the breeding season. Pay; £1055.60 (gross pcm) Accommodation is provided.

Responsibilities of the post include monitoring breeding gulls, waders and passerines, liasing with the Estate and producing an end of season report. Good communication skills and knowledge of coastal birds are therefore essential. Previous wardening experience is desirable but not essential.

The closing date for applications is Monday 22nd February 2010. Interviews will be held on Thursday 4th March 2010 at Gosling Sike Farm, Carlisle.

Membership Recruiter x 2

15 hrs per week Mon-Fri 6pm-9pm Cumbria Wildlife Trust is seeking to appoint a Membership Recruiter to join the current team. Your job will be to enthuse about the work of Cumbria Wildlife Trust and inspire people to become members. The work will be on a door-to-door basis, based in Kendal and the surrounding area. Training days and regular meetings will be at the Trust headquarters at Plumgarths, Kendal.

The successful applicant will be dynamic, self-motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills. A full driving license and use of your own vehicle is essential.  Previous sales experience and a general knowledge of wildlife is highly desirable.
