Cows Save Butterflies
Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s Barkbooth Lot Nature Reserve is one of only a handful of sites away from the Morecambe Bay limestones were the scarce high brown fritillary butterfly breeds. Once widespread across England, Cumbria is one of the last remaining strongholds for this species that has become extinct from 94% of its former range in the last 50 years. Cumbria Wildlife Trust manages the site to provide perfect conditions for this large, showy, orange and black butterfly. Come Together to Stop Climate Chaos
On Saturday 5 December 2009, ahead of the crucial UN climate summit in Copenhagen, tens of thousands of people from all walks of life will flow through the streets of London and Glasgow and across the world to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future for all. The Wave is organised by the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition.
