Gosling Sike Farm residents meeting a success

Plans for an organic farm donated to the Trust this year were welcomed by local residents last month in a meeting arranged by the Trust.

Gosling Sike Farm, just outside Carlisle, will be maintained as a wildlife-rich small holding, with plans to build an education centre and possibly a shop or cafe. Residents were overwhealmingly in favour of the plans for the farm, but concerns raised were taken on board by the Trust. For pictures of the farm click here.

Trust competitions promote wildlife and wildplaces

This month sees the launch of several competitions which aim to promote some of our on-going projects and the wildlife of Cumbria. Why not have a go and see what you can achieve?

Why not try out your photography skills in our Hay-Day Photography Competition? See what you can create in our Design a Red Squirrel Feeder Competition. Perhaps you might have a unique skill at coaxing worms from the ground? If so why not come along to our Worm Charming Family Day in Barrow. See what flowers you and the kids can find in our Big Summer Flower Hunt, and you could win prizes.

Click here for more information on all these competitions.
