In memorium

There is another way you can help – that’s by leaving instructions for relatives and friends to consider an alternative to wreaths and bouquets. Cut flowers have a short life and are soon forgotten. However, a donations to Cumbria Wildlife Trust ‘in lieu of flowers’ will help preserve or restore places where wildflowers flourish, providing a haven for wildlife to be enjoyed by generations of people to come.

It is estimated that we have lost 98 percent of our meadows in recent years through the intensification of farming. You can help us to recreate the beauty and vibrant colour of flowers such as orchids, globeflowers, ox-eye daisies, ragged robing and primroses. Meadows provide safe havens for birds, bees, butterflies and a range of other invertebrates.

A donation ‘in lieu of flowers’ is a direct way of helping us to restore the meadows of our youth. You can make your wishes known in your Will or in a letter of wishes to your solicitor or a family member. Cumbria Wildlife Trust will acknowledge all donations received and inform the next of kin so that they have a record to keep of our appreciation.

Gift Aid? I wish Cumbria Wildlife Trust to treat all donations I make including membership payments from today’s date as Gift Aid donations, allowing the Trust to reclaim the tax until I notify you otherwise. I understand the tax reclaimed by the Trust must not exceed the total amount of income or capital gains tax that I pay in a tax year.
